Frequently Asked Questions
There are a couple things you need to have for your appointment to run smoothly:
• a completed intake form sent to you by email
• a prescription from your physician including diagnosis
• your most commonly worn footwear (the shoes you want your new orthotics to fit into).
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your first visit.
If you plan to have the orthotics covered by your extended health insurance, then yes, a prescription (including diagnosis) is required before you can be assessed by a Pedorthist and submit your claim.
If you don't have coverage for custom orthotics and will be paying out-of-pocket, then a prescription is not required.
During your 45 minute assessment, Cameron will complete a detailed history, postural and gait analysis, and any functional tests relevant to your unique case. If custom orthotics are necessary, an accurate 3D scan will be taken of both feet using the Occipital Structure Pro 3D scanner. Other treatment recommendations, including referrals, will also be made as necessary to complement the orthotics.
After the 3D scan is taken of your feet, they will be made to order in our local manufacturing facility. Within 2 weeks you will be booked back in for your fitting appointment.
